The Lima Memorial Foundation is known for transforming spaces and providing unique experiences for our guests who travel far and wide to attend our annual Journey gala. We take great pride in having guests experience the region’s premier event within one of the many hidden gems located within our greater Lima region. We have converted an empty airport hangar into a 1940’s victory party; created a galaxy out of a museum parking lot, turning it into an extra-terrestrial astronomic experience; renovated a 54,000 square foot warehouse into Lima’s largest art gallery; and bent the seams of reality with an underdeveloped section of a mall, turning it into an extravagant red carpet experience. We take great pride in creating enthralling environments from one of the many hidden gems in our vibrant region every year.

This year’s Journey gala is no exception on the transformative front as we travel to Wapakoneta and partner with FlexArm. Established in 1971 as Midwest Specialties, a stamping facility that got its start producing water can brackets for Humvees and Jeeps, FlexArm grew into what it is today after its founder, Richard Kennedy, created the first tapping arm almost five decades ago. Three generations later, FlexArm still produces water can brackets, is still based in Wapakoneta and is still in the family, run by Richard’s grandson, Nick Kennedy. It became immediately evident upon meeting Nick and his wife, Ashley, that FlexArm would be the perfect location for our 2019 Journey gala. Family-owned and locally-sourced, their foundational pillars are parallel to those of Lima Memorial Health System; a wonderful team attitude, providing great service to their community, profound integrity and exceeding expectations.

“FlexArm couldn’t be more excited to host the Journey event so we can help raise money for such a great cause! This will be the biggest and best event in our area! The inpatient rehabilitation wing we are supporting with this event will be state-of-the-art, and most importantly, it will help a lot of people!” - Nick Kennedy
